- 8+ years developing embedded software/firmware for production systems
- Expert-level C programming and familiarity with language standards
- Experience with bare-metal and RTOS environments
- Integration of microcontrollers with analog/digital sensors and IC bus protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, UART, Ethernet)
- Hardware debugging and board bringup experience (JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Strong software development practices, debugging methodologies, and test-driven approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication and technical leadership
Responsibilities
- Design and implement firmware for microcontrollers, device drivers, and system-level features supporting TRS products.
- Drive program-level ownership to maximize customer impact and deliver production-ready firmware.
- Mentor junior engineers and raise the capability of the firmware team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical, Software, Product, and Test Engineering from prototype through deployment.
- Coordinate hardware bringup, rapidly troubleshoot cross-domain issues, and enable fast iteration on new hardware.
- Support test engineering and production yield through firmware test support and automation.
- Participate in field testing to validate performance and identify high-impact firmware features.
Education
- MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
- Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience may be considered
