Skills
- Proficiency in Ruby and/or JavaScript
- Experience with a web framework (preferably Rails)
- Familiarity with React and GraphQL integration
- Strong software testing skills and test-driven approach
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL and working with relational databases
- Comfortable in CLI/POSIX environments and using Git/version control
- Experience supporting production systems and debugging in production
- Familiarity with AI-based tooling for development productivity
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain clean, maintainable Ruby/Rails and JavaScript/React code
- Develop new features from requirements through delivery and take ownership of end-to-end implementation
- Collaborate with product, design, and QA to define scope and validate solutions
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and production issues; support production systems
- Write unit and integration tests and ensure code stability prior to release
- Participate as engineering lead in agile ceremonies and contribute to planning and retrospectives
- Create and maintain technical documentation and setup guides
- Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate improvements into the stack
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Relevant technical training or certifications a plus
