Responsibilities
- Design and iterate mechanical hardware for a wearable Army vision system including packaging for sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection
- Develop detailed CAD models and manage complex parts and assemblies from prototype through production
- Perform structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate performance under impact and stress
- Drive rapid prototyping and physical evaluation, including additive and traditional manufacturing workflows
- Balance SWAP-C constraints with human factors, comfort, and usability for prolonged tactical wear
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test teams to achieve qualification and production readiness
- Support preparation of documentation for manufacturing, testing, and military qualification programs (MIL-STD)
- Iterate designs based on test data, field evaluations, and stakeholder feedback
Education
- BS, M.Eng, MS, or PhD in an engineering field (BS minimum required)
- Relevant coursework or experience in mechanical design, materials, thermals, and FEA
