Mechanical Design Engineer
Skills
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX 3D modeling
- Strong GD&T and tolerance analysis skills
- Familiarity with aerospace materials (metals and composites) and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret stress reports, loads, and test requirements
- Experience creating BOMs and engineering documentation
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability and certification considerations
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 3D solid models and detailed engineering drawings using CATIA V5 or Siemens NX
- Develop component and assembly designs including material selection, tolerance stack-up, and GD&T
- Coordinate with stress, materials & processes, manufacturing, and quality engineering for producibility and certification
- Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and manage engineering change processes
- Generate and maintain BOMs, specifications, and design substantiation documentation
- Collaborate with suppliers and OEM customers on interface definitions and integration
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for production or in-service issues
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
