AECOM is seeking a qualified, motivated individual in our Houston, TX office to support our Global Tunneling & Trenchless Group operating throughout North America. The qualified applicant will have experience with various trenchless engineering and construction techniques including horizontal directional drilling (HDD), microtunneling (MT), guided bore and other new installation trenchless industry methods, with an interest in expanding their knowledge. The position includes project planning, design and construction services oversight, schedule/budget management and client interface, all in an interesting and highly rewarding consulting engineering work environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with project team members, have a high level of initiative and motivation to learn and deliver quality results, have strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a team environment providing value-added, innovative solutions. The candidate’s duties include, but are not limited to:
Work within a team as a mid-level member or task manager
Preparing engineering calculations supporting trenchless or tunneling designs and developing drawings and visual aids
Conducting site visits and observation of Ground and site conditions
Potentially spending time on site as an inspector
Performing assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out trenchless engineering tasks
Interpreting and applying geotechnical, geologic or hydrogeologic investigation results in supporting designs on a variety of trenchless and tunneling projects
Working within a variety of industries including oil & gas, water & wastewater, telecommunications and power, supporting their conveyance infrastructure
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have familiarity with geotechnical software, GIS systems, AutoCAD / Civil 3D.
P.E. license or ability to obtain within 2 years is preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
