Staff Cyber Resilience Engineer
Skills
- 8+ years working in complex cloud environments; 3+ years in AWS
- Strong Terraform expertise and modular IaC design
- Hands-on experience with Secure Vault / isolated account patterns
- Proficiency in Python or Go and advanced shell scripting
- Experience building end-to-end automated restoration workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Scalr, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of EKS/Kubernetes (strong plus)
Responsibilities
- Design and build an Isolated Recovery Environment in AWS with immutable vaults and hardened controls
- Threat model cloud-native attack paths (IAM escalation, backup deletion, ransomware persistence, lateral movement)
- Validate and improve backup configurations to ensure recoverability
- Drive 100% Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for all infrastructure components
- Develop automated recovery pipelines to redeploy a clean, hardened environment and restore data
- Author and maintain executable recovery playbooks with tested API/CLI steps
- Create scripts (Python or Go) to smoke test and validate integrity of recovered data
- Lead hands-on recovery drills simulating full environment loss and manage after-action improvements
- Partner with SRE to embed resilience into multi-region, high-availability designs
- Champion IaC and immutable infrastructure practices across engineering teams
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent experience
- Relevant security or cloud certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Security Specialty)
