Skills
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript backend development
- API design and implementation (REST and/or GraphQL)
- Experience building Shopify or ecommerce integrations
- SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL datastores (MongoDB)
- Familiarity with React for admin/frontend integrations
- System design and service boundary definition
- Observability, monitoring and performance tuning
- Git, PR-based workflows and CI/CD
- Experience handling sensitive data and compliance (PCI, SOC2, HIPAA)
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain platform services and APIs that support merchant integrations and external partners
- Design and implement integrations with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) and other commerce systems
- Write clean, readable, and extensible backend code in Node.js and TypeScript
- Integrate and operate external APIs at scale
- Contribute to frontend/admin interfaces (React) to support platform operations
- Participate in technical design discussions: scope solutions, identify tradeoffs, and break work into deliverable units
- Collaborate via code reviews, pairing, and group problem-solving
- Improve system reliability, observability, and performance across platform services
- Evolve integration architecture to scale to more partners and higher traffic
- Write and maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and development practices
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Or equivalent professional experience in software engineering
