True Anomaly is a mission-driven aerospace company building spacecraft, software, and AI to enhance space security and sustainability. We are seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer (II or III) to perform FEA, modal and random vibration analyses, develop and validate FEMs, and support dynamic test campaigns for spacecraft and missile-defense structures at our Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA facilities.

Skills

  • Proven experience with FEA tools (FEMAP/NASTRAN or HyperWorks/OptiStruct).
  • Hands-on experience with vibration, shock, and acoustic environmental testing and instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and aerospace failure modes.
  • Experience with launch, on-orbit, and aero-thermal dynamic environments.
  • Ability to build and correlate high-fidelity FEMs and run dynamic response simulations.
  • Familiarity with CAD integration (SolidWorks or NX) and PLM workflows (Teamcenter).
  • Clear technical writing and test reporting skills for verification and review artifacts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural dynamics analyses (modal, harmonic, random vibration, shock, transient) to assess spacecraft and missile-defense systems under dynamic environments.
  • Conduct static structural stress analyses including inertial and handling load simulations.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain finite element models (FEMs) for structures and subsystems.
  • Plan and participate in dynamic test campaigns (vibration, shock, acoustic) and correlate test data with analytical models.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to ensure structural requirements and interfaces are satisfied.
  • Document analysis methods, assumptions, results, and verification activities for design reviews and certification packages.
  • Support failure investigations, material/property assessments, and recommendations for design or test changes.
  • Contribute to full program lifecycle activities from design capture through integration and launch support.
