What we need

We are looking for a Head of Planning to support a successful and rapidly growing business with trusted brands. Overall purpose of the role:

This position will require an experienced Demand Planning leader who is able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced, demanding environment while leveraging strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

 

Lead and manage site sales and operations planning process to ensure alignment of functions and senior management to delivery of business goals for medium to long term.

Alphacomm custom designs, manufactures and distributes wireless accessories to over 18,000 points of distribution, primarily in the Prepaid wireless market in North America. Alphacomm leads the wireless industry in the number of carrier brands managed and is the first to market carrier-licensed accessory portfolios for over fifty devices launched annually. In-house brands, Quikcell and BosBos, are leading brands designed and manufactured by Alphacomm for the Prepaid channel.

Responsibilities

·        Preparation of a variety of monthly S&OP reports suitable for presentation for senior management, combining demand and supply topics.

·        Responsible for compiling data from different sources, analyse data and provide insights.

·        Develop insightful reporting to measure business performance and provide business recommendations for improvement and/or innovation.

·        Liaise with the different departments in our organisation and our outside partners to follow up on any challenges or discrepancies within the data.

·        Manage designated team of planners ensuring they are trained and proficient in company tools and systems, conducting performance reviews, creating development and succession plans, and providing regular feedback against company goals.

·        Provide inputs to annual operating plan (AOP) discussions and long-range planning.

·        Monitor and adjust plan as required as business needs change.

·        Provide proactive and regular updates on issues related to out-of-stock items, service issues, supplier issues, production schedule adherence, order issues, inventory metrics, and other related issues.

·        Ensure that new product introduction and discontinuation plans have been properly communicated and are included as input to the demand planning process.

·        Oversee demand planning function to assure correct generation of unconstrained demand forecast and to implement/adopt tools to streamline and increase automation of demand forecast generation including continuous improvement processes to improve forecast accuracy at aggregated and SKU levels.

·        Ensures the demand review process happens routinely and on time.

·        Execution of the supply review processes, ensure supply constraints are clearly defined with potential trade-offs.

·        Oversee supply planning weekly cadence to optimise production and inventory plans based on customer orders and demand plan.

·        Work with Operations team to identify opportunities for improvement related to capacity planning, production scheduling, productivity, plan attainment and target inventory levels.

·        Develop and maintain models and analytics as enabling tools for tactical and strategic use in the S&OP cycle.

·        Generates what-if scenarios based on captured risks, opportunities, and inputs from the S&OP cycle to guide decision making.

·        Improve and execute capacity planning process to align and balance supply with demand to provide input for short and midterm planning.

·        Ensure cross-functional business plans (Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Finance) are synchronised in future periods and key disconnects are highlighted and resolved.

·        Develop SKU segmentation based on business rules and historical sales performance to build supply models (make to order, finish to order, make to stock) to deliver inventory and service level targets.

·        Ensure all data generated via S&OP is timely and accurate and shared with the appropriate personnel.

·        Review the S&OP process to ensure its alignment with contemporary best practices and is suitable for our dynamic business needs.

·        Drives continuous improvement to streamline the process and bring best practices to tech21 S&OP process.

·        Ensure identification, monitoring and reporting of assumptions, risks and opportunities relating to the medium- and long-term business targets.

Continually review the S&OP process to ensure it continues to be up to date with current best practice and suitable for business needs.

·        Strategic-minded - focuses on the big picture, ensuring that goals and objectives are strategically aligned with the organization’s vision and mission

·        Flexibility - adapts to changes while remaining focused on goals

·        Collaboration - works with and through others to achieve common goals and desired results

·        Detail oriented - verifies important details, ensures there are no surprises or gaps in needed information

·        Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics preferred.

·        Proven experience in Supply Chain (experience in Demand Planning and Supply Planning in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods highly preferred).

·        Knowledge and experience in MRP and ERP systems materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics preferred.

·        Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills, including multi-tasking and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, follow up and attention to details.

·        Adaptable to multiple requests, daily changes and still deliver on commitments.

·        Data-driven with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

·        Proven business management experience working across organization and varying levels of leadership. Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders across the organization, including listening to understand multiple viewpoints and their relevance to the success of S&OP outcomes

·        Skilled at working with teams of people with disparate opinions and agendas to develop common outcomes, strategies, and plans. Builds a sense of team goals, focusing team while balancing trade-offs in each stakeholder community

·        A change agent and not satisfied with the status quo and works proactively to continually improve.

·        Focused on ensuring that all data and activities are managed at an appropriate level of detail to ensure an accurate demand and supply plan.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
