Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of copper and/or fiber harnessing and cable assembly manufacturing
- Working knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP) and quality systems (ISO/AS9100/NADCAP)
- Statistical analysis skills (SPC, DOE, Six Sigma concepts) and data-driven problem solving
- Experience in root cause analysis methods (8D, RCCA) and corrective action management
- Ability to audit and qualify suppliers, including process capability assessment
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to travel frequently (domestic & international) and work extended hours as needed
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Own continuity of supply for copper and fiber cable harnessing on the Starlink program
- Collaborate with design, R&D, procurement, reliability, and production teams to manage suppliers and deliver product requirements
- Assess, audit, and onboard new suppliers based on manufacturing capability and quality systems
- Develop and implement supplier technical requirements and quality flow-downs
- Implement and monitor PPAP and other supplier approval processes to enable rate production
- Ensure supplier qualification and reliability activities meet program requirements
- Define and approve process controls for critical characteristics
- Drive supplier root cause failure analysis (RCCA) and corrective actions for quality escapes or containments
- Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and lead improvement plans
- Recommend technical and process improvements to reduce defects, cost, and cycle time
- Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Lead projects and present findings to internal teams, management, and suppliers
- Own supplier SPC, yield improvement activities, and new tool/process qualification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or supply chain (preferred)
