Skills
- Deep experience with board-level electronics design and PCB toolchains (Altium or equivalent).
- Proven track record of hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data-driven analysis.
- Experience designing electronics for harsh/mission-critical environments (space, aviation, robotics, launch).
- Knowledge of power electronics: DC-DC conversion, load switches, motor drives, and high-voltage considerations.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams and drive system-level tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, vendor interactions, and design for reliability/manufacturability.
- Comfort with writing and reviewing technical documentation, test plans, and verification matrices.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect power electronics and board-level avionics for flight hardware (DC-DC, load switching, motor drives, HV as applicable).
- Lead hardware development through concept, schematic/PCB design, prototyping, bring-up, validation, and qualification to flight production.
- Perform board bring-up, debug, test plan creation/execution, data analysis, and design verification.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, propulsion, and GNC teams to integrate electronics into the vehicle.
- Drive manufacturability and reliability efforts with suppliers and manufacturing partners; support design for manufacturability (DFM) and test.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, test reports, and certification artifacts required for flight hardware.
- Support vehicle integration, pre-flight checkouts, and operations; troubleshoot hardware in lab and vehicle environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team processes, schedules, and hardware project management.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required.
- Master's degree in a related field preferred but not required.
