Perform load calculations, airflow analysis, and equipment sizing to optimize system performance while ensuring designs align with energy efficiency and sustainability standards.
Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes) while staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and equipment schedules, and support construction activities by reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs in a timely manner.
Required knowledge/Experience
4+ years of mechanical design experience, with a focus on building systems such as HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection in industrial or commercial environments.
Familiarity with industrial building environments such as warehouses, manufacturing facilities, data centers, or Power Distribution Center (PDC) buildings strongly preferred.
Proficiency in CAD and BIM software, including AutoCAD and Revit; experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling tools is a plus.
Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, equipment schedules, and construction documents for building system projects.
Solid understanding of building systems, energy modeling, sustainability standards, and load calculation software such as HAP or Trace 700.
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations including ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
Familiarity with product lifecycle management, quality control concepts, and construction support processes including submittal reviews and RFI responses.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities with a high attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including architects, structural engineers, and project managers.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and professional integrity.
