IT Project Engineer
Skills
- 5+ years delivering projects in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft platform (Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server)
- Experience with virtualization, networking, storage, backup/recovery, and security technologies
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management
- Proven ability to lead projects from scoping through delivery
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to assess requirements and recommend business-aligned technical solutions
- Scope, plan, and lead IT projects across Microsoft platforms, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and security
- Serve as project lead or senior engineer on engagements and manage small project teams
- Conduct environment discovery and assessments for new and existing clients
- Architect and deploy server virtualization, data center, and centralized computing solutions
- Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies meeting business continuity needs
- Lead M&A-related infrastructure projects, new location buildouts, and cloud (including Microsoft 365) migrations
- Mentor junior engineers and raise technical standards across the team
- Travel locally to client sites as required
Education
- Degree in a technology or business-related field preferred
- Relevant technical certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA) are a plus
- Practical, demonstrable MSP project delivery experience is required
