This is a high-impact engineering leadership role responsible for driving the development, modernization, and delivery of healthcare software solutions within an ambulatory EHR environment. You will lead multiple geographically distributed engineering teams and oversee end-to-end product delivery across a complex and regulated healthcare technology landscape. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement, with a strong emphasis on AI-directed software development as a core engineering discipline. You will partner closely with product, architecture, QA, cloud operations, and executive stakeholders to align roadmaps and accelerate innovation. - Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering healthcare software enhancements, cloud modernization initiatives, regulatory updates, and client-driven commitments.
- Own full lifecycle software delivery, including planning, execution, quality assurance, release readiness, and ongoing production stability.
- Drive predictable delivery using Agile methodologies, structured planning, and strong execution governance across distributed teams.
- Champion AI-directed software development as a core capability, ensuring governance of AI-generated code quality, correctness, and architectural alignment.
- Establish and enforce architecture-as-source-of-truth principles across all engineering teams and delivery pipelines.
- Build and scale clinical AI capabilities, including intelligent agents for documentation, decision support, and workflow automation with strong safety and compliance controls.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in product, architecture, security, DevOps, and support to align technical direction and business priorities.
- Manage operational performance, including budgets, headcount planning, vendor oversight, and delivery efficiency across hybrid teams and geographies.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering metrics such as velocity, defect rates, release quality, and AI adoption effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong experience in Healthcare IT or EHR product development, with deep understanding of regulated software environments.
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple engineering teams in distributed, global environments.
- Demonstrated ability to scale engineering organizations and improve delivery velocity, quality, and operational discipline.
- Strong technical background in modern software architecture, cloud-native systems, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven or AI-assisted software development practices is strongly preferred.
- Ability to define and enforce architectural standards and translate them into scalable engineering execution.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including product, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing organizations.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments requiring both strategic thinking and tactical execution.
