Gecko Robotics is helping the world’s most important organizations ensure the availability, reliability, and sustainability of critical infrastructure. Gecko's complete and connected solutions combine wall-climbing robots, industry-leading sensors, and an AI-powered data platform to provide customers with a unique window into the current and future health of their physical assets. This enables real-time decision making to increase the efficiency and safety of operations, promote mission readiness, and protect the environment and civilization from the effects of infrastructure failure.
As a Motion Designer at Gecko Robotics, you will be the bridge between static design and cinematic storytelling. We are looking for a "Graphic Designer with an innate sense of pacing and rhythm.” Someone with a relentless eye for taste, composition, and technical detail. You won’t just be "creating graphics"; you’ll be defining how our brand feels in motion, from animating interfaces to creating 3D overlays on industrial robotics footage. You are a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is obsessed with the future of AI & Robotics. We hope you can join us for a 10-15 week internship in Pittsburgh, PA.
Motion Branding: Transform static campaign visuals into living, moving works using a catalogue of cinematic robot footage and cutting edge software interfaces, from around the world of critical infrastructure.
Post-Production Polish: Collaborate with the Videographer to enhance footage with technical overlays, motion-tracked graphics, and 2D/3D elements. The end result is not just cool- it connects Gecko’s capabilities with direct impacts to the world.
Software Visualization: Create compelling "product-in-action" advertisements by animating our software UI to demonstrate value and functionality.
Full-Spectrum Design: Execute high-end 2D graphic design for diverse assets including brand ads, event posters, and presentation decks.
3D Integration: Render 3D models and assets to animate the breadth and depth of our robotic and software systems.
Rapid Prototyping: Conceptualize and storyboard ideas quickly, moving from a rough brief to a polished output with minimal oversight.
Team: Embedded in a tight-knit powerhouse team with wide ranging skillsets and opportunities to experience all sides of the business. Resources at your disposal from powerful workstations to experts in their field.
Education: You are studying Motion Design, Graphic Design, or similar curriculum.
Design-First: A background in Graphic Design. You understand typography, grid systems, and color theory as the foundation of great visual communication.
Taste: A portfolio that demonstrates a clean, straightforward, and technical aesthetic. You know how to craft complex ideas into compelling media.
Self-Starter: You don't wait for a storyboard; you come up with one. You are comfortable working quickly and iterating based on technical feedback.
Experience: Comfortable creating across a wide range of mediums, demonstrated with a diverse body of work.
Must Have: Proficiency in After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci for Video Editing, Figma for UI/UX motion.
Nice to Have: 3D software Proficiency (Blender, Octane, Redshift, Cinema 4D, Keyshot). Experience creating motion design for web experiences.
