Cost Optimization Lead

The Cost Lead is responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives across product groups within Resource Industries by leveraging strategic tools such as should-cost analysis, order quantity optimization, similar part analysis, and multi-source arbitrage. This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who can translate complex data into actionable insights that support cost leadership and competitive advantage. The position also involves preparing clear, concise leadership summaries and executive-ready reports that highlight risks, savings opportunities, and key performance metrics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:                       

• Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor project and program health
• Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and performance drivers
• Present findings and recommendations using Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI in executive-ready formats
• Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities across product groups
• Support and manage projects from initiation through execution
• Optimize order quantities and assess sourcing strategies to improve efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement and track cost-saving initiatives

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related field AND 8+years of experience OR
• Masters’ Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of experience OR
• Associates’ Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related field AND 10+ years of experience

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong data analytics skills with advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts/graphs), PowerPoint, and Power BI
• Ability to interpret part numbers and read technical drawings/prints
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience driving cost reduction initiatives
• Experience with process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and Power BI
