Cloud Architect - Robot Management Systems

Diligent Robotics builds AI-driven service robots that collaborate with human teams in complex environments like hospitals. We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect to define and execute the technical architecture and roadmap for our Robot Management Systems — cloud services, APIs, and applications that operate and scale an expanding robot fleet and integrate with customer systems. This role blends architecture, engineering leadership, and coding to deliver secure, scalable, observable, and compliant systems for healthcare operations.

Skills

  • Hands-on Node.js backend development experience
  • Experience building modern web apps with React or Next.js
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures and AWS (preferred) or GCP
  • Experience designing and operating microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
  • CI/CD and deployment automation (GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Observability tooling: metrics, logging, tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger, etc.)
  • Security, reliability, and compliance experience (HIPAA/regulatory awareness preferred)
  • Strong system design, troubleshooting, and mentorship skills

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the technical architecture and roadmap for the Robot Management Systems platform.
  • Design and implement cloud-native, scalable microservices to support fleet management, integrations, and operations.
  • Develop and maintain Node.js backend services and well-documented APIs for customers and internal teams.
  • Drive CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment best practices across the platform (GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, etc.).
  • Lead adoption of infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
  • Establish and enforce architecture patterns, coding standards, and security/compliance controls suitable for healthcare.
  • Implement observability: monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting to support operations and incident response.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Implementation, and Customers to align technical work with operational needs.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and run architectural reviews to resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to improve scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Or equivalent practical experience in software engineering and systems architecture

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan with company match or retirement benefits
  • Generous paid time off and flexible time policies
  • Remote-first work environment with home office stipend
  • Professional development budget and learning opportunities
  • Parental leave and family support benefits
  • Collaborative, mission-driven team focused on real-world impact
