- Supplier industrialization and qualification experience in manufacturing environments.
- Technical expertise in composites manufacturing and metallurgy; familiarity with CAD and GD&T.
- Experience implementing SPC, production ramp strategies, and tooling qualification.
- Supplier auditing, factory layout optimization, and capacity planning skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to travel ~50% and be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supplier production strategies from NPI to full-rate production for composite/mechanical commodities.
- Audit and vet supplier facilities, capabilities, workforce, and layout for Approved Supplier List inclusion.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure suppliers meet part quality criteria and close corrective actions.
- Bring up new production tooling and lines at supplier sites; validate materials, processes, and tooling for performance and yield.
- Drive supplier capacity expansion readiness and production ramp plans to meet demand.
- Establish and lead process performance controls (SPC) and regular reviews at supplier sites.
- Identify and implement product/process improvements and factory layout optimizations to reduce cost, risk, and defects.
- Support cross-functional root-cause task forces and ensure corrective/preventative actions are executed and closed at suppliers.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field (required).
- Preferred: Bachelor's in mechanical, metallurgical, or materials engineering.
