Senior Compliance Engineer
Skills
- Deep cloud security expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong Terraform and IaC experience; CloudFormation/Bicep a plus
- Practical knowledge of NIST SP 800-171/800-53, CMMC, FedRAMP, and SOC 2
- Scripting/programming experience (e.g., Python, Go, Rust)
- Experience with continuous monitoring and security tooling (Tenable, Splunk, ELK)
- Networking and VPC design, segmentation, and security group management
- Identity and access management and Zero-Trust Architecture concepts
- Familiarity hardening and monitoring Kubernetes (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain IaC and PaC (e.g., Terraform modules, policy templates) that enforce NIST SP 800-171/800-53, CMMC, and related controls.
- Architect and deploy security controls across AWS/Azure/GCP and on-prem environments, integrating ConMon and automated compliance scanning.
- Build and operate pipelines that automate infrastructure deployments, compliance evidence generation, and audit artifact production.
- Translate regulatory requirements into enforceable technical controls and developer-friendly templates to enable compliant deployments by default.
- Evaluate system architectures for alignment with moderate-impact federal security controls and drive remediation of gaps.
- Conduct compliance testing, assessments, and continuous monitoring to validate control effectiveness and maintain audit readiness.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security best practices across onboarding and delivery workflows.
- Produce and maintain cybersecurity policies, playbooks, and clear technical guidance for engineering and leadership.
Education
- Degree in Systems Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent professional experience in Cloud Security or DevSecOps accepted
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
