Skills
- Strong C and C++ programming with memory-safety best practices
- Low-level embedded software and device driver development experience
- Practical knowledge of cryptographic implementations for constrained devices
- Experience with secure boot, firmware validation, and secure firmware update mechanisms
- Familiarity with static analysis, debuggers, and embedded toolchains
- Proficient debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
- Experience performing threat modeling and security architecture reviews
- Knowledge of embedded security standards and best practices
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with flight software engineers to continuously harden embedded spacecraft systems
- Conduct security reviews of flight controller software, control systems, and communication protocols
- Design, implement, and audit secure boot, firmware validation, and cryptographic primitives
- Establish and enforce secure coding practices for safety-critical embedded software
- Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews for embedded subsystems
- Integrate security features into test fixtures, CI/CD pipelines, and verification suites
- Support device security efforts including key management, secret storage, and HSM integration
- Support operational spacecraft deployments with security monitoring and incident response
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance (ITAR/US-person eligibility)
