Manufacturing Technical Writer

The Manufacturing Technical Writer is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed work instructions, based on engineering documentation, for the manufacture of both flight and non-flight hardware.  This is a full-time non-exempt position in which the work is performed under general supervision by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is evaluated on results obtained.

The Technical Writer will:

• Create operations Travelers for all new product builds based on direction from engineering drawings and reviewers.
• Maintain IFS Product Routings to match Traveler operations. 
• Maintain in-process Travelers for engineering changes and issues that occur during the build.
• Develop and maintain rework/repair travelers.

A bachelor's degree in technical communications or another technical field. 2+ years of experience in a high reliability production environment is preferred.

Additional qualifications include:

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, enterprise and database software.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of computer information and database systems
• Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish good rapport with members of management and other employees.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to proofread and edit a variety of documents and to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to use enterprise software systems such as VALOR MSS and IFS.

Compensation: Base pay range is $34-44/hour, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
