Staff Propulsion Engineer, Integrated Design
Skills
- Strong fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms
- Demonstrated project and technical leadership
- Proficiency with CAD and CAD data management (any major platform)
- Experience designing, analyzing, assembling, and testing hardware
- Ability to perform system-level trade studies and integrate across disciplines
- Familiarity with FEA and commercial tools (Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran) — preferred
Responsibilities
- Own overall engine layout and packaging; conduct layout trade studies for engine configurations
- Control, validate, and release CAD models and engineering BOMs for top-level engine assemblies
- Design and analyze hardware including engine gimbal, cryogenic and hot propellant ducting, fluid manifolds, tubing, and secondary structures
- Lead development of manufacturing and test methods to improve performance, reliability, and cost
- Perform hands-on integration, assembly, and test oversight of propulsion hardware
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Test, and Vehicle Design teams to ensure producible designs
- Drive cross-discipline trade studies and maintain technical accountability for assigned systems
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or related field (preferred)
