Skills
- Strong software engineering and API design experience
- Proficient in Python and FastAPI for backend development
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
- Cloud deployment experience (AWS and/or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Customer-facing experience: ability to scope, prototype, and deliver solutions onsite
- Ability to understand engineering problems across disciplines and translate them into software
- Comfort working with ML/physics model teams to productionize inference
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, designers, and customers to ship model-driven applications that deliver measurable value
- Design, prototype, and iterate end-to-end customer-facing tools and workflows based on continuous user feedback
- Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs (FastAPI) in Python to serve large physics models
- Deploy and operate microservices and applications using Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform and cloud providers (AWS/Azure)
- Travel to customer sites (approx. 3-4 weeks per quarter) to co-develop solutions and ensure successful adoption
- Abstract cross-use-case solutions into platform features and drive product direction based on field learnings
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Background in Mechanical or other engineering disciplines is a plus
