Senior Staff ML Engineer, Search & Recommendation

• Design and advance large-scale AI-driven search and recommendation systems, focusing on relevance, retrieval quality, and user experience across high-traffic platforms.
• Lead the development of end-to-end search infrastructure, including query understanding, indexing, ranking systems, and feature pipelines.
• Build, deploy, and optimize machine learning models and LLM-based systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and production reliability.
• Improve search relevance through experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and continuous model iteration using real-world behavioral signals.
• Collaborate with ML, product, infrastructure, and data science teams to solve complex technical challenges and align on system design decisions.
• Define technical vision and roadmap for search relevance, influencing organizational direction and long-term architecture evolution.
• Mentor senior engineers and staff-level peers, contributing to technical leadership and engineering excellence across the team.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of industry experience building and scaling large-scale search, ranking, or recommendation systems.
• Strong expertise in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, with proven production deployment experience.
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs in production, including evaluation, tuning, and integration into real systems.
• Deep understanding of lexical and semantic retrieval systems, ranking algorithms, and search relevance methodologies.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Golang, with solid foundation in scalable system design.
• Proven ability to define technical roadmaps, identify high-impact opportunities, and drive large-scale system improvements.
• Experience collaborating across functions and influencing technical direction in complex engineering organizations.
• Nice to have: experience building agentic AI frameworks or conversational AI systems in production environments.
