As the Manager of Government Relations, you will support Coco’s regulatory strategy and public sector engagement across its operating markets. You will build relationships with government representatives and community stakeholders in existing markets (e.g.,Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Jersey City) and assist our expansion into new cities and states.
This is a highly cross-functional, externally facing role. You will work closely with Operations, Legal, Product, and other teams to ensure Coco can launch and scale successfully in complex regulatory environments.
Build and manage relationships with city officials, regulators, and local stakeholders across assigned markets
Support market launches and expansions by helping secure permits, approvals, and favorable operating conditions
Represent Coco in meetings, hearings, and working groups with public sector stakeholders
Track and interpret local legislation, regulatory changes, and permitting processes affecting autonomous delivery
Partner with Operations and Legal to ensure day-to-day compliance with local rules and requirements
Help develop market-specific engagement strategies to support Coco’s growth
Support community engagement efforts, including outreach to neighborhood groups, business associations, and advocacy organizations
Assist in identifying and evaluating new market opportunities, including regulatory feasibility and stakeholder landscape
Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and updates for internal stakeholders and leadership
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between policy, operations, and product decisions
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
3+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs
Experience working with local or state government stakeholders (e.g., city officials, DOTs, regulatory agencies)
Demonstrated ability to navigate permitting, regulatory, or public sector processes
Ability to travel up to 30%
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams
Experience in mobility, robotics, transportation, or logistics
Familiarity with municipal policy environments in major U.S. cities
Experience supporting market launches, expansions, or public-private partnerships
Background in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment
Existing network in key markets is a plus
