ARK Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a motivated Scientist to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of innovative in vitro diagnostic (IVD) assays. In this role, you will independently design, execute, and analyze laboratory studies supporting assay feasibility, development, optimization, and validation for immunodiagnostic products used in clinical decision-making.

The Scientist will apply expertise in biochemical and immunoassay techniques while exercising independent judgment in experimental design, data analysis, and troubleshooting. This position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of immunodiagnostic assay products through proof-of-concept, feasibility, development, and validation phases
  • Independently plan, design, execute, and document laboratory studies, occasionally receiving guidance from senior scientists
  • Apply biochemical and immunoassay techniques including bioconjugation, chromatography, protein purification, and dialysis
  • Optimize assay formulations and analytical performance of reagents and assay systems
  • Evaluate and qualify antibodies, conjugates, and other critical raw materials
  • Perform statistical and graphical analysis of experimental data, identify inconsistencies, and propose solutions
  • Troubleshoot complex experimental issues and recommend alternative technical approaches
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures including pipetting, reagent preparation, buffer formulation, and dilution calculations
  • Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pH meters, and analytical balances
  • Support technology transfer to manufacturing, including scale-up or production activities when required
  • Prepare technical documentation including reports, SOPs, and experimental summaries
  • Present experimental results and technical findings to internal teams and management
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • PhD in biology, immunology, chemistry, clinical chemistry, biochemistry, or other life science with some internship experience preferred; or MS degree in the above mentioned areas and at least three (3) years of experience; or BS degree in the above mentioned areas and at least five (5) years of experience.
  • Academic training and direct experience in working in a biochemistry laboratory
  • Experience with immunoassay technologies and assay development workflows
  • Strong data management, statistical analysis, and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent computer, mathematical, and statistical abilities
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills in experimental settings
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
