Battery Verification Engineer
Skills
- Proficient in C/C++ for code analysis and Python for test automation.
- Hands-on experience with SIL and HIL test execution and automated test frameworks.
- Familiarity with DO-178C and other safety standards (ISO 26262, ASIL) at high criticality levels.
- Experience with low-level communication protocols: CAN, RS-422/485, ARINC-429, SPI, I2C, Ethernet.
- Working knowledge of high-voltage battery sensors and measurement techniques (current, voltage, temperature).
- Strong requirement traceability and verification lifecycle experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and document test plans, test cases, and procedures from high- and low-level software requirements in accordance with DO-178C.
- Execute SIL and HIL testing to verify battery management algorithms and low-level drivers.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks (C/C++, Python) to increase test coverage and efficiency.
- Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with embedded developers to analyze root causes and verify fixes.
- Design and execute tests to validate fault detection and diagnostic algorithms (insulation breakdown, short circuits, sensor failures).
- Analyze sensor and test data (cell voltages, pack current, temperature) to validate state estimation and protection performance.
- Participate in software audits, reviews, and verification reporting to meet DO-178C certification requirements.
Education
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree (required)
- MS in a related discipline (preferred)
